We run high resolution radiation-hydrodynamical simulations with FLASH to investigate how metallicity affects the structure and expansion of ionisation fronts (IFs) and photodissociation regions (PDRs) around HII regions. We present two simulations, comparing solar metallicity to a Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)-like environment (Z = Z☉/5). These simulations track the temperature, density, ionisation structure, and pressure across time, allowing us to isolate the impact of reduced cooling and dust shielding in low-metallicity regimes. We present results showing systematic differences in IF expansion, PDR thickness, and temperature between the two metallicities. We also compare our simulation results with real data from JWST observations of the N13 region to provide a better understanding of the role of metallicity.
